This week…………..

First of the many May bank holidays, took a hike up a big hill to find some bluebells. Found some white ones and discovered the difference between native bluebells and Spanish ones. These being native because of the way they droop over. White bluebells being relatively rare – 1 in 10,000.

Work week was busy, with a consultation looming and the prospect of applying for your own jobs being the talk of the week. With no real messaging until the end June, speculation is high and morale is low. So head down I think, with options to consider I am sure. On the plus side – pay rise is incoming, I guess this is what the redundancies will pay for.

Thursday was first local elections since moving 2 years ago. Off we went ID in hand to the local church hall to choose the mayor. By all accounts it was a close call but we do indeed have a new mayor. I think I am pleased, à change is as good as a rest, so they say. Let’s see – not who I voted for and I am pretty sure the election was won on potholes and train lines but time will tell.

Of course the big news of the week was the coronation, the success of which depends completely on which media outlet you subscribe to. For example, Will & Kate looked lovingly at each other with pride versus Will & Kate arrived late looking like they had been arguing in the car. I suspect the truth in somewhere in between. I was not one of the 19 million who tuned into watch, reason being simply that my 9 year old nephews had a big football match. I figured while new king would not miss my attendance, my nephews would. So football it was…

And in other news, I broke the handle off the frying pan when I picked it up. It’s not even old.
Much love xx
